Are you a Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT) with a passion for Microsoft Fabric and Power BI? We're looking for an experienced trainer to deliver a comprehensive learning programme for a leading UK university, helping a team of experienced Excel and Business Objects developers transition into the Microsoft analytics ecosystem. The work will be delivered onsite where needed and remote the rest. This is a fixed-fee, Outside IR35 engagement, with payment made upon the successful delivery of the agreed training programme.
The Opportunity
You'll be responsible for designing and delivering engaging, practical training to a cohort of approximately 10 experienced Excel and Business Objects developers, equipping them with the knowledge and hands‑on skills required to build modern analytics solutions using Microsoft Fabric and Power BI. The programme should combine classroom‑style instruction with practical workshops and real‑world examples, ensuring delegates gain confidence in applying their learning.
What You'll Deliver
The successful trainer will cover the end‑to‑end Microsoft analytics platform, including:
- Microsoft Fabric architecture and platform fundamentals
- The complete analytics lifecycle
- OneLake architecture and data management
- Fabric capacities, workspaces, licensing and governance
- Data ingestion using Dataflows Gen2 and Pipelines
- Lakehouse vs Warehouse design principles
- Data transformation using Power Query and SQL
- Semantic modelling and star schema design
- DAX fundamentals and business calculations
- Power BI report and dashboard development
- Publishing and collaboration through the Power BI Service
- Security, governance and data protection
- Performance optimisation and capacity management
- Analytics development lifecycle and deployment pipelines
- Copilot and AI capabilities within Microsoft Fabric and Power BI
