New Contract Opportunity: Linux Deployment Engineer – Sheffield – Hybrid – Inside IR35
I'm currently supporting a key client on a large-scale transformation initiative and looking to speak with experienced Linux Deployment Engineers for a 6-month contract, starting ASAP.
- Location: Sheffield – hybrid working (2-3 days on-site per week)
- Rate: £375-£400/day (Inside IR35)
- Length: 6 months
- Start Date: ASAP
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the deployment, configuration, and testing of new eLux builds across 100k+ endpoints
- Implement and validate authentication using Zscaler ZIA/ZPA (device-based and user-based)
- Work closely with internal teams and Zscaler support to troubleshoot system and endpoint issues
- Upload, manage, and maintain Linux system images and configurations
- Perform root cause analysis and deep OS/application-layer debugging
- Support performance testing and contribute to voice/video offload optimization strategies
- Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve blockers and ensure delivery aligned with business needs
Key Skills & Experience:
- Strong Linux system administration & scripting background
- Proven experience with endpoint devices – ideally thin clients like eLux
- In-depth knowledge of Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) and Private Access (ZPA)
- Strong troubleshooting skills across OS and performance issues
- Experience managing Linux builds at enterprise scale
- Network optimization & security awareness
- Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
