Overview
Lead Electronics Engineer – to join a leading technology business driving innovation in advanced sensor technology. Location: South Surrey (4 days onsite).
We’re seeking a Lead Electronics Engineer to lead a talented engineering team of 6 and take ownership of the full product lifecycle from requirements and system architecture to circuit design, prototyping, testing, and production support. You’ll combine hands-on technical expertise with proven leadership skills, ensuring projects meet performance, safety, and compliance standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and integration of innovative products (digital, analogue, and software).
- Develop specifications, requirements, and interface definitions.
- Design, simulate, and validate circuits.
- Drive system integration, debugging, and validation activities.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership.
- Support compliance (EMC, safety) and DFMEA reviews.
Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or similar.
- 5+ years’ experience in systems engineering and people management/leadership.
- Strong digital & analogue design skills (ADCs, DACs, op-amps, power supplies).
- Familiar with PCB tools (Altium, OrCAD, KiCad) and simulation (LTspice, MATLAB/Simulink).
Desirable
Desirable: wireless comms (BLE, Wi-Fi, LoRa), intrinsic safety standards, or experience in regulated sectors (medical, aerospace, automotive, industrial automation).
