A fast-growing fintech in Dubai that operates at the intersection of FX, payments, and digital banking is looking for a Head of Payment Operations to join the team.
Payment Operations sits at the heart of the business, ensuring seamless global payments, liquidity management, compliance, and vendor relationships - all critical for scaling.
Key Responsibilities of the Head of Payment Operations:
- Payment Operations Leadership: Oversee reconciliation, treasury, liquidity, back-office processes, vendor relationships, and automation.
- Automation & Process Improvement: Move away from manual work (Excel-heavy) towards digital solutions that free the team for higher-value tasks.
- Vendor & Provider Management: Negotiate with PSPs, banks, and crypto/payment providers to ensure competitive capabilities and cost efficiency.
- Liquidity & Treasury Management: Forecast and maintain provider balances, avoiding shortfalls while optimising capital allocation.
- Stakeholder Management: Act as the bridge between CEO, finance, risk, dealers, and external partners.
- People Leadership: Motivate and manage a mid-sized team performing repetitive, detail-oriented work.
Key Requirements of the Head of Payment Operations:
- 8–10 years’ experience in payments/fintech
- Background in FCA-regulated or highly regulated fintechs; exposure to crypto is a plus.
- Excel expertise and ability to design financial processes (ledger logic, reconciliations, forecasting).
- Proven vendor negotiation and partnership management track record.
- Strong people manager – able to keep teams motivated through repetitive operational tasks.
- Product mindset – able to treat payment operations as a “product,” working with engineering to build scalable systems.
- Comfortable with startup culture: lean teams, fast pace, building from scratch.
The team are offering 30,000–33,000 AED/month (£70,000-£75000), alongside a benefits package which includes ESOP, medical insurance, and visa sponsorship.
