Electronics / Systems Architect | Outside IR35 | Excellent Day Rate | Majority Remote Looking for your next contract where you'll own the whole system—not just one part of it?
I'm working with an innovative technology company developing market-leading wireless products, and they're looking for an experienced Electronics / Systems Architect to join their small, highly specialised engineering team.
Majority remote (2 days per week in Cambridge) Outside IR35 (QDOS assessed) Interviews from 6th July | ASAP start This isn't a role for someone who wants to stay in a single discipline.
It's for an engineer who enjoys understanding how the entire product comes together—from electronics and digital systems through to RF, testing, integration and the end customer application.
You'll be working across system architecture, hardware integration, PCB design, lab testing, debugging and measurement, helping solve real engineering problems as products move from concept through to delivery.
Requirements Broad electronics and systems engineering experience Strong RF knowledge (essential), with the ability to apply it within a complete system Experience integrating hardware, digital systems and communications technologies Hands‑on PCB layout and debugging experience (Altium is desirable), for complex high density multi‑layer boards Python (or similar) scripting for test automation, measurement and analysis A practical, lab‑based approach to testing, troubleshooting and system validation (not just simulation) Experience with Software Defined Radio (SDR) or complex wireless systems The ability to thrive in a small engineering team where technical ownership is broad and varied Bluetooth product experience would be a real advantage.
This position offers a large breadth of exposure and would suit someone well who understands how the whole system comes together.
If you enjoy solving complex engineering challenges, taking ownership across multiple technical disciplines, and building complete systems rather than individual components, this is a fantastic opportunity.
