X4 Technology are partnered with a high growth commodity trading firm in central London to hire a Front Office Software Engineer, working at the forefront of trading technology where every line of code directly impacts real-time market decisions.

Embedded with the firm’s LNG trading desk, you’ll work closely with traders and analysts to design, build and maintain high-performance front office tools and solutions, including:

• Desk-specific analytics, providing real-time market insights
• Python-based forecasting models supporting risk assessment and decision making.
• Tender tracking systems via Angular-based Outlook add-ins
• Data driven applications, built with data scientists, structurers and analysts to surface key price drivers (demand, weather, etc)
• Freight and risk-altering tools, developed with risk teams to provide forward-looking LNG exposure insights

Responsibilities of the Front Office Software Engineer

• Partner with front office teams to iteratively deliver a prioritised backlog of business and technology initiatives
• Designing and delivering solutions using C#/.NET, Azure, Angular, Python, SQL Server and other technologies
• Building robust, high quality systems using modern best practices in software engineering, unit/integration testing and CI/CD
• Staying curious and proactive, taking ownership of learning trading workflows and identifying opportunities where technology can add commercial value

Requirements for the Front Office Software Engineer:

• Strong C#/.NET (Core, ASP.NET Core, Web API, gRPC)
• Web technologies, particularly Angular
• Comfortable with Azure cloud platforms
• Good working knowledge of Python and its applications
• Understanding of database design (SQL Server, Cosmos DB, or similar)
• Familiarity with modern DevOps practices
• Excel-based tools (VBA, Power Query, Excel add-ins) are a helpful
