A leading consultancy based in Bedfordshire are seeking a proactive Data Protection & IG Consultant to join their growing team. You’ll work independently across client accounts, providing expert guidance on GDPR, data privacy and compliance frameworks particularly in healthcare, public sector, and regulated environments.
Data Privacy & IG Consultant Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a trusted advisor, managing and growing multiple client accounts
- Lead audits/assessments on GDPR (UK & EU), DSPT, and ISO 27001
- Advise on DPIAs, SARs, breach response, and international data transfers
- Develop key documentation: ROPAs, data sharing agreements, policies
- Engage with NHS, healthcare, and policing clients, tailoring advice accordingly
- Deliver training, workshops, and professional reports
- Support knowledge sharing and mentor junior colleagues
Data Privacy & IG Consultant Key Skills Required:
- Proven consultancy experience in data protection or information governance
- Strong relationship and account management skills
- Hands-on experience with GDPR, DSPT (ISO 27001 desirable)
- Knowledge of UK GDPR, PECR, and public sector requirements
- Experience in regulated sectors (NHS, policing, etc.)
- Excellent written/verbal communication and documentation skills
Data Privacy & IG Consultant Desirable Skills:
- Experience with compliance documentation (asset registers, SARs, ROPAs)
- Familiarity with ISO standards and audit frameworks
