Day rate: £400/d (outside IR35)

Location: Remote (occasional travel for workshops)

Contract: 3 months initial

X4 Technology are partnered with a high-growth, PE-backed organisation who are transforming their operations to become automation-first and AI-enabled.

As Business Analyst, you’ll drive a major process overhaul within managed payroll – moving the business away from manual, spreadsheet-heavy workflows and toward smarter, scalable, intelligent operations. You’ll lead deep-dive process discovery, redesign end-to-end processes and identify where RPA and AI can remove bottlenecks and unlock efficiencies.

Working closely with finance, billing, sales, support, operations and more, you’ll map every touchpoint front-to-back and deliver the blueprint for RPA partner selection and successful delivery.

Responsibilities of the Business Analyst (Robotic Process Automation)

• Collaborate with functional teams to capture and document as-is processes (BPMN or equivalent)
• Run workshops and interviews to gather requirements and identify pain points
• Define success metrics to measure process improvement and RPA impact
• Identify and assess automation opportunities with business units and RPA partners
• Liaise with third-party RPA vendors to translate business requirements into technical solutions

Requirements for the Business Analyst (Robotic Process Automation):

• Strong RPA knowledge and implementation experience
• Skilled with Visio, Excel, Jira, Confluence, RPA platforms (eg UiPath, Blue Prism)
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication
• High-quality BA artifacts (feasibility assessments, RTMs, UAT scripts, training)
• Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams

This is a 3 month initial contract, working remotely with occasional travel to lead in-person workshops. Day rate is £400/d outside IR35, and there is scope to convert to permanent for the right candidate to support the client’s long-term RPA and AI automation ambitions.
