X4 Technology are partnered with a global energy trading offering a contract Business Analyst (Exchange Trading) role on a high-profile, multi-year Exchange Trading Transformation Programme. The initiative aims to streamline the lifecycle of derivatives trading by automating execution, enhancing price transparency and improving customer experience. This specific project focuses on exchange connectivity, OEMS integration (Trading Technologies), FIX protocol implementation and market data integration to deliver a scalable, compliant trading infrastructure.
Responsibilities of the Business Analyst (Exchange Trading):
- Leverage expertise in global future exchanges to gather and clarify business requirements
- Serve as SME for trading exchange, OEMS, FIX protocol and market data integration
- Translate requirements into technical solutions across the project lifecycle
- Analyse and map RFQ, order and trade lifecycles to design solutions that enhance trading system quality and efficiency
- Liaise between business, development, QA, infrastructure and production support to ensure smooth delivery
- Troubleshoot and resolve real-time trading operations issues
- Assist in implementing scalable, compliance algorithmic trading technology
Requirements of the Business Analyst (Exchange Trading):
- Deep understanding of major global futures exchanges and the full exchange-traded derivatives lifecycle
- Knowledge of market data providers (Bloomberg, Refinitiv, etc.) and liquidity aggregation platforms
- Experience with third party networks and EMS/OMS vendors (TT, NYFIX, Bloomberg, TradingScreen)
- Familiarity with messaging systems and network protocols (TCP, multicast) is highly desirable
- Broad E/CTRM, Capital Markets and Investment Banking background for well-rounded external insight
The contract is for an initial 6 months with strong potential for multi-year extension. The rate is £800/d (inside IR35), with flexibility for the right candidate. Interviews are from w/c 23rd June.
