Configuration Manager in Cambridge

Product Configuration Manager | Engineering & Manufacturing

Cambridge or Hertfordshire | Hybrid | Permanent

I’m supporting a leading UK engineering business looking for a Product Configuration Manager to take full ownership of configuration management across a diverse product portfolio.

Reporting to the Technical Director, you’ll drive standardisation, control configuration changes, support certification, and help roll out a new PLM/PDM system. This is a key role shaping how product data is created, maintained, and communicated across multiple engineering sites.

What you’ll be doing:

• Own and improve configuration management processes

• Maintain product structures, variants & documentation

• Manage ECNs and full lifecycle traceability

• Lead and develop a small team

• Work closely with engineering, production, compliance & commercial

• Support PLM/PDM implementation and continuous improvement

What we’re looking for:

• Strong configuration management experience in engineering/manufacturing

• Confident with PLM/PDM tools, change control & ERP

• Excellent organisation & attention to detail

• Able to interpret technical documentation

• Leadership/mentoring experience

• Degree in engineering/manufacturing or similar
