We’re building next-generation autonomous aerial systems and are looking for a Founding Embedded Software & Robotics Engineer to help shape the core intelligence behind our platform. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives at the intersection of embedded software, robotics, and real-world hardware integration. You’ll work on the systems that enable autonomous sensing, communication, control, and onboard decision-making across a highly integrated VTOL platform. You’ll be joining at an early stage with the opportunity to influence technical direction, architecture, and engineering culture from day one.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Designing and developing robust embedded software for autonomous robotic systems
- Integrating and debugging sensors, microcontrollers, companion computers, and onboard communications hardware
- Working directly with Linux-based embedded devices using SSH and low-level debugging tools
- Supporting system bring-up, testing, validation, and field integration
- Developing reliable interfaces across protocols such as CAN, I2C, UART, and SPI
- Collaborating closely with a small, fast-moving engineering team to rapidly iterate and solve complex technical challenges
- Contributing across the full development lifecycle — from prototype to deployed hardware
What We’re Looking For
Essential Experience
- Strong embedded software engineering background with experience on real hardware systems
- Experience developing on Linux-based embedded platforms
- Practical systems integration skills across electronics, sensors, compute modules, and communications interfaces
- Familiarity with embedded protocols including CAN, UART, SPI, and I2C
- Confidence debugging issues across hardware and software boundaries
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced startup environment
- Strong engineering fundamentals and problem-solving mindset
Desirable Experience
- STM32, Raspberry Pi, Jetson, or similar embedded platforms
- Robotics systems or autonomous vehicle development
- ROS2, OpenCV, or computer vision pipelines
- RF communications systems
- UAV/autopilot systems and flight controller integration
- Electronics or hardware design experience
What’s on Offer
- Founding-level equity package
- Competitive salary with future growth opportunities
- Significant technical ownership and influence
- Flexible paid time off
- Pension scheme
