We are seeking an experienced Senior Hydraulic Modeller to join a growing water team, supporting a range of wastewater and drainage projects across the UK. This role will have a strong focus on Clean Stormwater Assessment (CSA) programme projects, with responsibility for leading the development, calibration, and delivery of hydraulic models for foul and combined sewer networks. You will play a key role in leading small teams, ensuring high-quality modelling outputs, and engaging with clients on technically complex CSA and wastewater projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of hydraulic modelling packages across CSA programme projects, ensuring quality, accuracy, and programme alignment
- Develop, build, and maintain hydraulic models using InfoWorks ICM
- Undertake model verification, calibration, and validation for wastewater networks
- Analyse sewer system performance, including flooding, surcharge, and capacity issues
- Lead and coordinate small teams of modellers, providing technical guidance and oversight
- Support delivery of projects related to:
- wastewater network upgrades
- storm overflow and spill reduction assessments
- drainage and resilience planning
Requirements
- Proven experience in wastewater (dirty water) hydraulic modelling
- Strong working knowledge of InfoWorks ICM
- Experience using GIS tools such as MapInfo Professional (or equivalent)
- Solid understanding of sewer network behaviour, including:
- foul and combined systems
- infiltration, inflow, and storm response
Desirable
- Experience with integrated catchment modelling
- Knowledge of UK water industry standards and frameworks
- Experience liaising directly with water companies or regulators
