I’m currently supporting a specialist building services consultancy and they are looking to appoint a proactive Electrical Design Director to lead the electrical design function across a range of building services projects. This role offers the opportunity to manage complex projects from concept through to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take responsibility for technical quality, design standards, and compliance.
  • Provide senior input across project delivery, from concept design through to completion.
  • Manage, mentor and develop senior engineers and design teams.
  • Act as a key technical point of contact for clients and stakeholders.
  • Support business development, bids, and project resourcing.
  • Work closely with other discipline leads to deliver fully coordinated MEP solutions.

Experience and Qualifications Required:

  • A Chartered Electrical Engineer (CEng – IET or equivalent).
  • Ideally from a building services / MEP consultancy background.
  • Experienced in leading electrical design on complex projects.
  • Comfortable operating at senior/strategic level while remaining technically hands-on when required.
  • Experienced in managing teams and interfacing with clients.
