Day Rate: £300-350/day (OUTSIDE IR35)
Location: Hybrid in Glasgow
Contract Length: 3 years
Role Responsibilities
- Design BT/Openreach EAD / Ethernet Access Direct and carrier Ethernet circuits for utility substation environments.
- Assess site feasibility using Openreach survey outputs, identifying access constraints, routing limitations, and delivery risks.
- Produce implementation-ready HLD/LLD design packs, including circuit diagrams, BoM, and as-built documentation.
- Evaluate EMI/EMC, Earth Potential Rise (EPR), and fibre vs copper suitability for high-voltage or sensitive sites.
- Coordinate with Vodafone, SPEN, BT/Openreach, field engineers, and suppliers to ensure end-to-end design viability and delivery readiness.
Required Experience
- Proven experience designing BT/Openreach EAD, leased line, or carrier Ethernet access circuits.
- Strong understanding of Openreach delivery lifecycle (survey, order validation, civils, provisioning, and site readiness).
- Experience producing telecoms access designs (HLD/LLD, implementation packs, as-built documentation).
- Knowledge of fibre access design and limitations of copper in electrical environments.
