We are recruiting for a hands-on Assembly Technician / Production Operative to join a growing engineering and manufacturing team. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with practical mechanical or production experience who enjoy working in a structured, quality-focused environment.
The role involves assembling technical equipment and components using digital work instructions, hand tools and power tools, while working closely with team leaders and engineering teams to ensure high build standards. This position would suit candidates from production, assembly, mechanical, automotive, engineering or manufacturing backgrounds, as well as practical engineering graduates looking to build hands-on experience. You will be based near Epsom for this contract and it has been assessed as OUTSIDE IR35.
Key Responsibilities- Assemble products and components in line with digital work instructions and quality standards
- Prepare and organise parts and materials for production builds
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and correctly, including torque tools where required
- Route and secure wiring and mechanical assemblies neatly and accurately
- Identify and report any build or assembly issues to supervisors or engineers
- Follow health & safety procedures and maintain a clean working environment
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across production processes
- Work independently on assigned tasks while contributing positively to the wider team
- Previous experience within a production, assembly, mechanical or manufacturing environment
- Confident using a variety of hand tools and power tools
- Ability to follow written or digital assembly instructions accurately
- Good attention to detail and a quality-focused approach
- Strong practical and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working in a structured, process-driven environment
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team

Desirable Experience- Experience within automotive, aerospace, commercial vehicle, prototype or technical assembly environments
- Electrical or wiring assembly experience
- Experience working in research & development or low-volume production settings
