  • Managing your own workload to deliver high-quality designs accurately, on time and within budget.
  • Undertaking technical peer reviews of electrical designs prior to submission.
  • Liaising with DNOs, IDNOs, utility providers, manufacturers and other external stakeholders.
  • Supporting the Tendering team by producing outline designs where required.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with both new and existing clients.
  • Working closely with Gas and Water Design teams to deliver coordinated multi-utility solutions.
  • Mentoring and supporting trainee engineers, sharing technical knowledge and best practice.

  • Experience designing LV and HV electrical utility networks and substations.
  • A good understanding of residential utility infrastructure and DNO/IDNO design requirements.
  • Knowledge of current NERS accreditation requirements and associated compliance standards.
  • A strong understanding of electrical equipment, substations, cables and network plant.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • A customer-focused approach with a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions.
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary design team.
