We are looking to hire a graduate degree / HND (or equivalent) electronics engineer to work in a small business developing and manufacturing high voltage generators, microfocus x-ray sources and their control electronics systems.
Must have:
- Experience with digital, analogue, and power circuits
- Ability to hand solder and assemble electrical/electronic circuit boards
- Fault finding of electrical/electronic circuits to component level
- Ability to read and understand electronics schematics
- Experience with development/test & debugging tools, e.g. oscilloscopes, multimeter, power supplies, signal generators
- An interest in electronics & engineering, a can-do attitude, willingness to learn, research, and teach themselves new skills
- Ability to work alone or as part of a team
- Good communication skills
Product specific training will be given.
With experience, the right candidate will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Assembling and testing various electronic circuit boards and their sub-assemblies
- Understanding test procedures, performing equipment setup, and following test procedures
- Working on existing and new designs, creating own test procedures, and modifying/designing new test equipment
- Supporting the production/manufacturing department with any electronic faults and providing additional assembly assistance when necessary
- Working alongside production to enable transition from product prototype through to small batch production
- Supporting senior electronics engineers with the development and assembly of existing and new products
- Recording/documenting work to a high standard and providing production with high quality build and test procedures
Advantageous:
- Competency in C programming
- Knowledge of switch-mode power supplies
- Circuit simulation and analysis with LT spice
- Schematic capture and layout with Cadence OrCAD
- Microcontroller programming in C
- Microchip PIC MCU/dsPIC/Arm with MPLAB
