Wyvil Primary School is an exciting and innovative school situated in the centre of London, based in three buildings. We have a dedicated Autism Resource Base in Kennington and two mainstream sites with integrated resource base classes for children with Autism and Speech and Language needs. We are looking to appoint an inspirational, enthusiastic and aspirational Senior Leader for Inclusion with strong SEND expertise and a commitment to coaching and developing others. This role is ideal for a leader who is passionate about modelling excellent practice, driving inclusive provision, and supporting staff through high-quality coaching, and who is ready to take the next step in their leadership journey towards Assistant Headship or beyond.

Responsibilities

  • Model exemplary teaching and adaptive practice for children with SEND, particularly Autism and Speech and Language, across the Resource Base and wider school;
  • Lead and embed a strong coaching culture, supporting staff to develop inclusive, high-quality teaching through modelling, feedback and professional dialogue;
  • Champion a holistic approach to learning, ensuring all children make strong progress academically and in their Personal, Social and Emotional development;
  • Maintain consistently high expectations of yourself and others so that behaviour, inclusivity and children’s learning are of the highest standard;
  • Lead and oversee key strategic areas within SEND provision (e.g. curriculum, assessment, teaching and learning), ensuring coherence and impact across sites;
  • Lead and develop others, supporting exceptional teaching and learning through coaching and modelling;
  • Take leadership responsibility including supporting other leaders with the day to day running of the site;
  • Design and deliver high-quality CPD, meetings and training, and hold staff to account for inclusive practice and pupil outcomes;
  • Demonstrate strong expertise in supporting children in the early stages of communication (e.g. PECS, Widgit Online, Intensive Interaction, AAC/ALD devices);
  • Oversee the implementation and review of strategies to support children with Education, Health and Care Plans, ensuring provision is effective and impactful;
  • Work flexibly and collaboratively as part of a committed leadership team across multiple sites.
