Role Purpose

Wyvern Academy is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people and wants to play an important role in supporting learning across the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise whole classes during the short‑term absence of teachers, ensuring that students remain engaged with the work set and maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Support the smooth running of the school day while promoting high expectations of behaviour, engagement and achievement.
  • Maintain a positive and well‑managed classroom environment.
  • Register student attendance and monitor behaviour.
  • Provide feedback to teaching staff on lesson outcomes.
  • Support students to engage with their learning.
  • Assist with routine assessments and invigilate exams where required.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including meetings, training and school activities.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage behaviour and motivate students.
  • Organised, reliable and proactive.
  • Good literacy, numeracy and ICT skills.
  • Enjoys working with young people and supporting their development.

Experience working in a school or education setting would be beneficial but is not essential.
