We’re looking for an experienced and proactive Contract Manager to join our Property directorate. This is a key role in ensuring we receive high‑quality, value‑for‑money services from our contractors across responsive repairs, voids, planned works and wider asset management activity. You’ll support strong supplier relationships, consistent contract performance and positive customer outcomes — contributing to safe, well‑managed homes and high standards across our communities.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading contract monitoring arrangements, ensuring reviews, checks and reporting are completed accurately and on time.
  • Tracking contractor performance against KPIs, addressing issues quickly and supporting consistent service delivery.
  • Using financial, activity and performance data to support decision‑making and business planning.
  • Managing non‑compliance and performance concerns, issuing improvement actions where required.
  • Responding to customer enquiries and service failures, resolving issues and ensuring learning informs future delivery.
  • Carrying out site visits, inspections and quality checks to confirm work meets required standards.
  • Overseeing Health & Safety responsibilities, including reviewing RAMS, monitoring CDM duties and undertaking safety inspections.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation, registers and baselines to support good governance.
  • Building productive working relationships with contractors and internal teams, supporting collaborative problem‑solving and continuous improvement.

What we’re looking for:

  • Strong experience in contract management, ideally within social housing, public sector or local authority environments.
  • Knowledge of performance monitoring, compliance, audits and measurable KPIs.
  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to support commissioning, pricing and value‑for‑money activity.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, able to build trust with contractors and colleagues.
  • Ability to interpret technical and financial data clearly and accurately.
  • Effective planning, prioritisation and organisational skills, with a practical, solutions‑focused mindset.
  • A commitment to customer service, inclusive practice and positive partnership working.
  • Degree or relevant professional qualification desirable; CIOB or RICS also beneficial.
  • Full UK driving licence required.
