Waste Operative Loader

Job Introduction

Role Overview:
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking individual to support the safe and efficient collection of waste materials, including domestic, commercial, recycling, and garden waste. This role is essential in maintaining high-quality waste collection services across the district.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out waste collections safely, following health and safety regulations.
• Assist with kerbside, bulky waste, and commercial collections.
• Support the driver with vehicle manoeuvres and daily safety checks.
• Maintain cleanliness of the collection vehicle and report missed collections or hazards.
• Use safety equipment correctly and ensure waste spills are promptly cleaned.
• Provide professional and courteous service to the public.
• Complete necessary documentation and support less experienced team members.

Requirements:

• Flexible working, including weekends, evenings, and Bank Holidays.
• Physically demanding role requiring frequent mobility.
• 37-hour work week with varied shift patterns (4- or 5-day schedules).
• Waste collection experience is desirable but not essential—training provided
