We are looking for a talented and motivated Web, Intranet and Internal Communications Officer to join our Communications & Visitor Economy team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping how we communicate with our residents, staff, and partners. You will lead on the development and management of our website and intranet, ensuring they are accessible, engaging, and meet the needs of our communities and workforce.
About the role
- Manage and continuously improve the council’s website and intranet, supporting our Digital Wyre ambitions
- Lead on web accessibility, ensuring compliance with legislation and best practice
- Develop and maintain high-quality, user-focused content
- Use insight and analytics to improve digital performance and customer experience
- Support internal communications across multiple channels, including our staff hub and digital screens
- Work closely with services, partners and senior leaders to deliver effective communications
- Support campaigns, marketing activity and emergency communications when required
- Provide training and guidance to staff and stakeholders on digital platforms
You will also support the wider communications team, helping deliver campaigns, content, and media responses as needed.
Qualifications and skills
- An excellent communicator with strong writing and digital content skills
- Experienced in managing websites and intranet platforms using content management systems
- Knowledgeable in SEO, digital accessibility standards, and analytics (e.g. Google Analytics)
- Proactive, organised and able to manage multiple priorities
- A collaborative team player who can also work independently
- Passionate about improving digital services and user experience
- Experience in local government, internal communications, or digital marketing would be advantageous
