Health and Wellbeing Officer
Are you passionate about helping people lead healthier, happier lives? We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised Health & Wellbeing Officer to join our Leisure, Healthy Lifestyles & Communities Team on a fixed-term basis to provide maternity cover until 31 May 2027.
This rewarding role will support the delivery, promotion and development of a wide range of health and wellbeing programmes across Wyre. Working closely with council services, partner organisations and community groups, you will help residents access opportunities and support that improve their health, wellbeing and quality of life.
As a Health & Wellbeing Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of programmes such as the Wyre Weight Management Service and the Holiday Activities and Food Programme. You will collect and analyse performance data, monitor and evaluate projects, maintain risk assessments and help ensure programmes meet their objectives and reporting requirements.
You will also engage directly with residents, responding to enquiries and signposting people to services and support available within the community. The role includes creating content for our Healthier Wyre and Wyre Moving More social media channels, as well as representing the council at community events and outreach activities across the borough.
We're looking for someone with excellent organisational and communication skills, experience of working within a health and wellbeing environment, and a genuine commitment to supporting residents to lead healthier and more active lifestyles. You will be comfortable working with a wide range of partners and stakeholders and confident using Microsoft Office applications to manage data and reports.
A full driving licence and access to suitable transport for travel across the borough are essential.
What's in it for you?
- Flexi-time and the option to work remotely part of the week, as agreed with your line manager.
- Free parking on site.
- Generous annual leave allowance. A minimum of 24 days (pro rata) in addition to all bank holidays, rising to 26 days after four years and 29 days after five years' local government service.
- Future development through face-to-face and virtual learning opportunities.
- Employee wellbeing support.
- Local Government Pension Scheme with generous employer contributions.
