  • Carry out fault finding, repairs and maintenance on a wide range of manufacturing and milling equipment.
  • Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities to ensure equipment reliability and performance.
  • Conduct routine inspections and identify defects, escalating issues where appropriate.
  • Support the safe operation and restart of automated and PLC-controlled plant and equipment.
  • Work in accordance with all Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality standards, including HACCP, COSHH, UFAS and VMD requirements.
  • Carry out equipment isolation and lock-off procedures safely and work within permit-to-work systems.
  • Assist production teams to ensure efficient site operations and plant performance.
  • Manage and supervise contractors working on site in line with company procedures.
  • Participate in the on-call rota, responding to out-of-hours breakdowns and emergency maintenance requirements.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and provide clear communication during shift handovers.

What we're looking for:

Essential:

  • Relevant engineering qualification (mechanical, electrical or multi-skilled).
  • Previous experience in a maintenance engineering role within a manufacturing, processing or industrial environment.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong commitment to health, safety and compliance standards.
  • Willingness to participate in an on-call rota.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience within a mill, animal feed, heavy process or continuous manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of PLC-controlled systems and automated production lines.
  • Experience supporting reliability, root cause analysis or continuous improvement initiatives.
  • FLT licence or experience operating FLTs.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary.
  • Employee Assistance Programme (EAP).
  • 4% employer pension contribution.
  • Life Assurance after probation period.
  • 25 days' annual leave plus UK bank holidays.
  • Wynnstay Colleague Discount programme.
  • Company Profit Related Performance Bonus.
  • Ongoing training and development opportunities.
  • Opportunity to join a supportive, values-led organisation with a turnover of over £583 million and over 900 colleagues nationwide.
