Engineering Supervisor – Llansantffraid (SY22 6AQ)

Wynnstay, a leading UK agricultural supplies business, is seeking a skilled and proactive Engineering Supervisor to oversee all maintenance activities at our Llansantffraid site.

Reporting directly to the National Engineering Manager, you will play a key leadership role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of all mechanical and electrical equipment critical to the production of high-quality animal feed.

The Opportunity:

The successful candidate will:

  • Supervise the safe and effective maintenance of all electrical and mechanical equipment on site
  • Respond quickly and efficiently to breakdowns, minimising production downtime
  • Collaborate with senior managers on budgets, capital expenditure, and site planning
  • Manage supplier relationships, order spare parts, and develop preventative maintenance routines
  • Oversee contractor activities, including issuing permits and managing ongoing refurbishment projects
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with regulatory standards (e.g. UFAS) and internal policies (e.g. ladder register, equipment logs)
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders such as the Head of Milling and Production Manager – Feed Division
  • Promote a strong health, safety, and environmental culture, following company policies and procedures
  • Participate in an on-call rota to support urgent or critical maintenance outside of core hours
  • Maintain spare parts inventory and ensure stock levels meet operational needs
  • Use iAuditor software for inspections, maintenance tracking, and reporting

The Person:

Essential:

  • Recognised engineering qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering)
  • Proven experience maintaining electrical and mechanical plant/equipment
  • Experience diagnosing and rectifying breakdowns in an industrial environment
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Good IT skills for digital record-keeping
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently or in a team
  • Able to remain calm and effective under pressure
  • Willing to be part of an on-call rota

Desirable:

  • IOSH or NEBOSH certification
  • Experience in a feed mill or similar manufacturing setting
  • Familiarity with UFAS or similar industry codes of practice
  • Experience using iAuditor or similar software
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Willingness to undertake further training and development
