Role Overview: Remote - With Travel across South Wales Region Wynnstay Group is seeking a knowledgeable, commercially focused and practical Calf and Youngstock Technical Specialist to support the growth of our youngstock nutrition offering. Reporting to the Youngstock Team Manager you will be responsible for maximising profitable sales of calf and lamb milk powders, calf and youngstock feeds, feeding equipment and associated services. You will work directly with farmers to understand their requirements, make practical feeding recommendations and troubleshoot performance or health-related challenges. By combining technical expertise with a commercial approach, you will identify suitable products and services that support improved youngstock health, growth and productivity. The role will also provide technical support, field sales representatives and store colleagues. This will include joint farm visits, product training, practical demonstrations and guidance on the correct use of calf feeding machines and related equipment. You will build strong relationships with farmers, veterinary practices, industry organisations, suppliers and key influencers, helping to strengthen Wynnstay's reputation as a leading provider of youngstock nutrition advice, products and services. Required: * Strong practical knowledge of calf and Youngstock Nutrition, husbandry and feeding systems. * Ability to assess on-farm requirements and provide clear, practical and commercially appropriate recommendations. * A commercially focused approach with the ability to identify opportunities and develop profitable product and service sales. * Confidence communicating with farmers, sales colleagues, store teams, suppliers and industry professionals. * Ability to explain technical information clearly to customers and colleagues with different levels of knowledge and experience. * Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to develop credibility and trust within the agricultural sector. * Ability to deliver practical training, demonstrations and technical presentations. * Ability to work independently, organise farm visits and manage a varied geographical workload effectively. * A proactive and self-motivated approach, with the ability to follow up leads and progress commercial opportunities. * Strong written communication skills with the ability to contribute to technical articles, promotional materials and customer communications. * A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly to customer farms and Wynnstay locations. Desirable: * A relevant qualification in agriculture, animal science, livestock production, nutrition or a related discipline. * Previous experience within an agricultural sales, livestock nutrition, technical advisory or farm consultancy role. * Experience selling calf and lamb milk powders, youngstock feeds, feeding equipment or associated services. * Experience using calf feeding machines, weighing equipment and youngstock monitoring tools. * An AMTRA qualification or willingness to work towards the qualification. * Knowledge of calf health products and the regulatory requirements associated with providing animal health advice. * Existing relationships with veterinary practices, agricultural institutions, discussion groups or other livestock industry organisations. * Experience working collaboratively with product suppliers, Category Managers or technical teams to evaluate and launch new products
