Regional Sales Consultant – Distribution (South UK) - Β£45-55K basic +25% Bonus + Car

About the Role

We are looking for an ambitious and commercially driven Regional Sales Consultant to develop sales and strengthen relationships across a network of distribution partners in the South of the UK.

This is a predominantly distribution-focused B2B sales role, combining new business development, distributor account management and territory growth.

You will be responsible for developing opportunities through distribution partners, strengthening existing relationships, identifying new markets and customers, and ensuring that distributors are well supported to grow sales.

The role would suit someone who enjoys being out in the market, building relationships, identifying commercial opportunities and taking ownership of their territory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and grow sales through an established network of distribution partners across the South of the UK.
  • Build strong, long-term commercial relationships with distributors and their sales teams.
  • Identify opportunities to increase sales, customer penetration and product adoption through distribution.
  • Work closely with distribution partners to identify target customers and new business opportunities.
  • Support distributors with product knowledge, applications, sales opportunities and commercial activity.
  • Understand distributor performance and identify opportunities to improve sales effectiveness.
  • Develop relationships with key contacts within distribution businesses, from sales teams through to senior management.

New Business Development

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the assigned territory.
  • Develop new customer and market opportunities through both distribution and direct engagement.
  • Build a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities and convert these into profitable sales.
  • Understand customer requirements and identify appropriate technical and commercial solutions.
  • Proactively develop opportunities rather than relying solely on existing accounts.

Territory & Account Management

  • Take ownership of sales performance across the South UK territory.
  • Develop and execute territory and account plans to achieve agreed sales objectives.
  • Manage and expand existing business while continually looking for opportunities to increase customer share.
  • Build strong relationships with key decision-makers, engineers, procurement and supply-chain contacts.
  • Monitor market developments and identify emerging commercial opportunities.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service throughout the sales process.

Technical & Commercial Sales

  • Develop sufficient technical knowledge to understand customer requirements and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Communicate the commercial value of products and solutions to customers and distribution partners.
  • Work with internal technical and specialist teams where required to develop customer solutions.
  • Provide expert advice and support throughout the sales process.
  • Promote new products and applications to distribution partners and their customers.
  • Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activity, opportunities and customer information within the CRM system.
  • Manage the sales pipeline effectively and maintain visibility of future opportunities.
  • Contribute to wider regional and team sales objectives.
  • Use customer and sales information to identify opportunities for territory growth.

What We're Looking For

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in distribution sales, channel sales or B2B industrial sales.

You may currently be working as a:

  • Territory Sales Manager
  • Business Development Manager
  • Technical Sales Engineer
  • Sales Engineer
  • Account Manager

Essential / Highly Desirable Experience

  • Proven experience in B2B sales and business development.
  • Experience working with distributors, wholesalers, resellers or channel partners.
  • Demonstrable ability to grow sales through distribution.
  • Strong relationship-building and account-management skills.
  • Experience identifying and converting new business opportunities.
  • Commercially driven and comfortable working to sales targets.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Able to manage a territory independently and organise customer/distributor activity effectively.
  • Confident engaging with customers at different levels, including engineers, procurement, sales teams and senior management.
  • Comfortable using CRM systems and maintaining accurate sales information.
