A growing engineering team in Reading is looking for an experienced Senior Control Systems Engineer to lead the design, development and commissioning of advanced automation solutions. They are also considering Control System Engineers.

The Role

  • Lead full project lifecycle delivery
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership
  • Develop PLC/SCADA/HMI software (Rockwell, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Schneider)
  • Produce specs, design docs and reports
  • Commission systems in live environments
  • Work across multidisciplinary teams and maintain high engineering standards

What You’ll Need

  • Degree in Control/Automation/Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • 6+ years in control & automation
  • Strong project engineering and client‑facing skills
  • Experience in sectors like Food, Utilities, FMCG, Process or Materials Handling

Tech Exposure (Desirable)

  • PLC, SCADA, HMI, MES, industrial networking, OT systems, functional safety, OT cyber security
