This is a fantastic and challenging opportunity for a CI & Quality Engineer seeking employment in an expanding and thriving company. The company provides hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and electrical services to customers across multiple sectors. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the development of a strong quality culture, driving continuous improvement, and improving business performance across the site.
Working closely with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and other key departments, the role will focus on identifying issues, understanding root causes, and implementing sustainable corrective actions. This will include the management and investigation of internal non-conformances, customer issues, process improvements, drawing/specification discrepancies, and opportunities to improve communication and effectiveness between departments.
The ideal candidate will be proactive, analytical, and collaborative, with the ability to engage with teams at all levels to solve problems, improve processes, and prevent recurrence. The organisation is accredited to ISO 9001:2015, and therefore a strong understanding of quality management systems and continuous improvement principles is essential.
Scope:
Reporting directly to the Head of Engineering Solutions Centre, you will support the location in all aspects of Quality Management, Continuous Improvement, and Operational Excellence. You will work closely with internal teams, customers, and suppliers to ensure quality standards are maintained, improvement opportunities are identified, and corrective actions are effectively implemented.
Key responsibilities:
- Maintain and improve the Business Management System, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and relevant customer requirements.
- Manage internal and external non-conformances, supporting investigation, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and effective close-out.
- Lead structured problem-solving activities (e.g. 5 Why, 8D) to identify root causes and prevent recurrence.
- Work closely with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and other departments to resolve site issues and drive continuous improvement.
- Conduct internal audits, identify improvement opportunities, and support implementation of corrective actions.
- Analyse quality data, monitor KPIs, and provide regular quality performance reports to management.
- Support customer and supplier quality activities, including audits, compliance visits, and issue resolution.
- Ensure inspection processes, measurement equipment, and quality controls are maintained to required standards.
- Review technical requirements, drawings, documentation, and processes to identify risks and improvement opportunities.
- Support incoming inspection, final checks, and verification of customer requirements prior to dispatch.
- Promote a culture of quality, problem solving, and continuous improvement across the business.
