We are seeking a highly motivated Solutions Design Engineer to design, develop, and deliver innovative robotics and automated warehousing solutions. This role bridges sales, engineering, and operations by translating customer requirements into scalable, cost-effective automation systems. The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise in warehouse automation, robotics integration, and systems design, combined with commercial awareness and customer-facing skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Design end-to-end automated warehousing solutions, including robotics, conveyors, AS/RS, sortation systems, and warehouse control systems (WCS).
- Analyse customer operational data (SKU profiles, order volumes, throughput requirements) to develop optimized system layouts and material flow concepts.
- Develop system concepts, 2D/3D layouts, simulations, and technical proposals.
- Perform capacity calculations, equipment sizing, and ROI analysis.
- Collaborate with robotics, software, and controls teams to ensure seamless system integration.
- Support sales teams during pre-sales activities, including technical presentations and customer workshops.
- Prepare technical documentation, solution descriptions, cost estimates, and risk assessments.
- Ensure solutions comply with safety standards and industry regulations.
- Participate in site visits, data collection, and technical clarification meetings with customers.
- Provide handover documentation and technical support during project implementation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or related field.
- 3–7+ years of experience in warehouse automation, intralogistics, robotics systems, or material handling.
- Strong understanding of:
- Robotics (AMRs, AGVs, robotic picking systems)
- AS/RS systems
- Conveyor and sortation technologies
- Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) & Warehouse Control Systems (WCS)
