To grow revenue and market share for my clients cutting and welding products across the UK by proactively generating new business, developing existing accounts, and independently planning and executing sales and marketing campaigns. The role requires a hands‑on, commercially driven professional with strong technical understanding of industrial gas control, cutting, and welding applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, develop, and convert new business opportunities within welding, fabrication, manufacturing, engineering, and industrial gas markets.
- Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through to negotiation, close, and after‑sales handover.
- Grow and retain existing customer accounts through regular contact, technical support, and value‑based selling.
- Achieve and exceed agreed sales targets, margins, and growth objectives.
- Create and manage a robust sales pipeline using CRM systems.
- Plan, execute, and measure self‑led sales and marketing campaigns aligned with business objectives.
- Identify key target sectors, customers, and applications for clients cutting and welding solutions.
- Work independently on product promotions, new product launches, and customer education initiatives.
- Attend and represent the company at trade shows, exhibitions, open days, and industry events.
- Produce campaign reports, forecasts, and performance updates for senior management.
Technical & Application Support
- Provide technical advice and product demonstrations covering: Gas cutting and welding equipment, Regulators, blowpipes, torch systems, and safety equipment.
- Understand customer applications to recommend correct client solutions.
- Act as a technical liaison between customers, internal teams, and suppliers.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback.
- Identify opportunities for product development, range expansion, and strategic partnerships.
- Share insights to support pricing, product positioning, and business strategy.
Skills & Experience
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively.
- Experience working with comparable brands/products.
- Background in technical sales or application engineering.
- Experience managing distributors or dealer networks.
- CRM and sales reporting experience.
- Proven experience in B2B business development or field sales within: Cutting & welding, Fabrication, engineering, or manufacturing markets.
- Strong understanding of gas cutting and welding equipment and applications.
- Demonstrated ability to independently drive sales and marketing initiatives.
- Track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
