This role is ideal for someone who has basic CAD skills and is keen to develop further within a supportive environment. Every project we deliver requires accurate recording of installed assets and services, all of which must be prepared and submitted in CAD format. While the CAD work involved does not require a fully trained CAD Technician, the role offers significant opportunity for growth.

We are committed to providing ongoing training and professional development, giving the successful candidate a clear progression route within DUS.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce and update CAD drawings to record installed assets and services for all projects.
  • Ensure drawings meet required standards and are submitted in the correct format.
  • Attend construction sites in the Preston area at least twice per week to gather information, verify installations, and liaise with site teams.
  • Work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, and site personnel to ensure accurate documentation.
  • Maintain organised records and support the wider team with drawing-related tasks.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally both in person on-site and via email.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Basic competency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD or similar).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical instructions.
  • Good verbal communication skills for on-site interactions.
  • Clear and professional written communication skills, particularly via email.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Willingness to visit construction sites regularly.
Desirable (but not essential)
  • Previous experience in a construction, engineering, or technical environment.
  • Understanding of asset recording or technical documentation.
  • Interest in progressing toward a more advanced CAD or technical role.
What We Offer
  • Full training and ongoing professional development.
