Wyndham Hotels & Resorts is now seeking an Intern Finance EMEA to join our team in London, UK. The Intern Finance EMEA will contribute to the performance of the EMEA team by supporting the Accounting and Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) teams with a mixed variety of duties and projects in the areas of Accounting and FP&A as required by Corporate Finance in the EMEA division. They will work with the Corporate Finance team as well as individually or alongside other interns from other corporate departments on business-critical projects to provide support and resources in line with the strategic priorities of the division.

This is a front-line Finance role working across a multi-faceted financial environment. They will implement activities, processes and procedures which support the existing team and the future growth of the division. They will build positive and effective working relationships with their client group and associates in order to drive the development, effectiveness, engagement and retention of the team in line with the needs of the division.

They will work to ensure the implementation of key financial planning initiatives including but not limited to enhanced financial and statistical forecasting processes, annual budget preparation, profit and loss accounting analysis, feasibility, financial compliance and efficiencies and overall improved financial reporting presentations. In order to achieve this, exposure across the broader accounting function on general ledger and month end across a number of European legal entities may be required as well as assistance with statutory audit and compliance requirements.

Successful candidates must be able to provide proof of their right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Support FP&A with EMEA corporate financials, including month end, forecasting and related report preparation for the divisional leadership team. This includes managed and franchised monthly hotel financial reporting, identifying trends, follow up and analysis. Assist in preparation of annual corporate revenue budget and related presentations. Perform ad-hoc analysis depending on business partner requests.
  • Assist in the AP function across multiple currency entities for UK, Turkey, UAE and India, including invoice, expense and payment processing via the Oracle accounting system.
  • Support month end process including accrual preparation, variance analysis and expenses forecasting as well as liaison with multifunctional departments on spending plans. Assist in preparation of annual corporate expense budget.
  • Work with the accounting team on business specific projects such as corporate compliance of various legal entities. Support with Feasibility project analysis as required.
  • Assist in the preparation of statutory compliance documentation such as tax, audit and VAT returns for a variety of EMEA companies.
  • All Interns will be involved in a business-critical project during their internship.
  • All Interns support the employee engagement committee in organising activities/initiatives under 3 pillars: People, Community and Sustainability.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Studying towards a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business Analytics.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English is essential, an additional language would be an advantage.
  • Must be an experienced user of MS Office tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

The Intern Finance EMEA will report to the Head of Finance EMEA. They will also work closely with and take direction from the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst EMEA.

ÂŁ25,875 gross per annum, prorated for the duration of the internship. 25 days of holidays per annum (accrued basis).
