The Role – Senior IT Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior IT Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of various operating systems and networking technologies, with a strong focus on system performance and reliability. This role is crucial in ensuring the seamless operation of our IT infrastructure, providing support for complex technical issues, and leading initiatives to enhance system efficiency.

Responsibilities

•Provide level 2 and 3 support, troubleshooting complex technical issues and collaborating with internal teams

•Active directory and group policy management – DNS, DFS, WSFC and WSUS

•Manage server infrastructure in Azure (IaaS) and on-premise VMware

•Network services and application management

•Administer network switches, Wi-Fi, firewalls, VPNs, SD Wan and cyber security measures

•Provide technical support and guidance – support IT apprentice within the department

•Manage and maintain IT security systems

•General fault finding and resolutions

Essential Experience required for this role

•Microsoft/ Windows Server 2016 – 2025 – patching and updates, life cycle management, end point back ups

•Dell Servers plus SAN’s, iSCSI, Virtualisation, VMware, ESXi, iDRAC and networking include Fibre, VLANs, RSTP, LAGs/Trunking, High availability, Radio links, 3G/4G and Wi-Fi

•VM’s, load balancers, VNets, storage accounts and Microsoft stack

•Desktop/User automation using group policy and SCCM

•Cyber security concepts
