The Role – Yard Operative/Labourer As a Yard Operative/ Labourer within our busy manufacturing department you will be tasked with keeping the engineering workshops tidy, assisting with fitting, lifting operations, kitting up engineering jobs, painting and other ad-hoc duties. You will be involved in forklift operations and use of the overhead cranes for loading and off-loading. Key responsibilities will include the following: • Operating a forklift in a safe and efficient manner • Loading and unloading lorries • Kitting up engineering jobs • Driving to collect and deliver parts • Keeping areas clean and tidy • Painting • Following all H&S requirements Experience • Forklift truck experience (Valid/in date license desirable) • Full clean UK driving license • Experience of using overhead cranes (not essential) • Experience within an engineering environment (not essential) The Person We are looking for someone who enjoys working as part of a team and who has a ‘can do’ approach to their work.
