Wykes Engineering seeks a skilled Structural Design Engineer to join our Engineering Department. In this role, you will design industrial steel structures for internal and external projects, applying expertise in structural design and a strong foundation in mechanical engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Proven experience in structural design of steel-framed structures.
- Provide technical support during construction, resolve design issues, and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Review shop drawings, assist with design modifications, and support project coordination.
- Solid understanding of relevant design codes and standards (e.g. BS EN).
- Ability to produce accurate structural calculations and detailed design drawings.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with engineers, contractors, and project teams.
Essential Experience
- Familiarity with mechanical engineering principles and multidisciplinary projects.
- Knowledge of fabrication and erection processes for steel structures.
- Experience with 3D modeling tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc).
