Wykes Engineering seeks a skilled Structural Design Engineer to join our Engineering Department. In this role, you will design industrial steel structures for internal and external projects, applying expertise in structural design and a strong foundation in mechanical engineering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proven experience in structural design of steel-framed structures.
  • Provide technical support during construction, resolve design issues, and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Review shop drawings, assist with design modifications, and support project coordination.
  • Solid understanding of relevant design codes and standards (e.g. BS EN).
  • Ability to produce accurate structural calculations and detailed design drawings.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills for collaboration with engineers, contractors, and project teams.

Essential Experience

  • Familiarity with mechanical engineering principles and multidisciplinary projects.
  • Knowledge of fabrication and erection processes for steel structures.
