Mechanical Design Engineer in Rushden

The Role – Mechanical Design Engineer As a successful candidate you will form part of a multi-disciplinary design team that is tasked with providing the processes and equipment that meet customer requirements, on time, to specification and within budget. Responsibilities • Take full responsibility for the detailed design of process plant elements within your remit. • To provide detailed design analysis from first principles, translate those designs into 3D CAD models, generate bills of material and create manufacturing drawings to supply to our own in-house manufacturing departments. • Can identify, analyse and resolve engineering problems but equally be ready to recognise the need for, and invoke, support from senior colleagues. • You will interact with colleagues at all levels in the business, together with suppliers and customers. Essential Experience required for this role • Experience in creating and maintaining CAD models and files (AutoCAD Inventor) • Experience of working in a design role for manufacturing/engineering environment • Be able to create and interpret engineering drawings to high standard. • Higher national Diploma (minimum) in Mechanical Engineering. • Experience in creating suitable working drawings for the following manufacturing departments. o Machine Shop o Press Shop o Fabrication/Welding Desirable Experience required for this role (Not essential) • P&IDs and Plant and Equipment Specification • Pressure Vessel design to PD5500/EN13445 • Some process knowledge would be an advantage Salary & Benefits Salary - Competitive within Industry Healthshield - Cash plan benefit scheme Life Assurance Increased holiday with length of service The Company – Wykes Engineering Ltd Based in Rushden, Northants, we are a leading edge engineering SME specialising in the manufacture of materials processing equipment for the production of renewable energy and valuable by-products from organic surplus.
