An opportunity has arisen for a Watch Manager to work at Silsden Fire Station on the On-Call duty system. Applications are welcome from existing Wholetime and On-Call Watch Managers and Competent Wholetime and On-Call Crew Managers as a promotion opportunity. Please note, applicants without the relevant IFE qualifications will be eligible to apply, however they will remain in development until the relevant qualifications are achieved as per the Crew Manager promotion process Development & Promotion Policy FF-SM.

Requirements:

  • A competent Watch Manager or Crew Manager.
  • Have no current/outstanding development action plans, performance improvement action plans or capability issues related to competency.
  • Be free of current formal disciplinary awards throughout the entire process.
  • Have completed an Annual Review in the last 12 months and be showing potential for promotion with line manager recommendation (within the Annual Review talent assessment section), if not already a Watch Manager.
  • Live within a 1-mile radius or a 5-minute response time to either Ilkley Station or Silsden Station.
  • Be able to provide a minimum of 60 hours cover per week (minimum 40 premium hours per week).
  • Have a full current driving licence.

Selection Process:

  • Presentation & Interview.
  • If appointment results in promotion the successful candidate will be required to complete the WM development pack.
