Role Description

The Asset and Compliance Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Coleford. This position is responsible for managing the housing association’s property assets, including planning and overseeing maintenance, repairs, and upgrades to ensure homes are safe, well-maintained, and fit for purpose. The role includes coordinating statutory and regulatory compliance activities, such as safety inspections, certifications, and documentation, and maintaining accurate asset and compliance records. The Asset and Compliance Manager will liaise with contractors, consultants, and internal colleagues, monitor budget and performance for asset-related projects, and report regularly to senior management and the Board. The role also involves identifying risks, recommending improvements to asset management and compliance processes, and supporting long-term planning for the housing stock.

Qualifications

• Strong asset management skills, including planning maintenance programs, managing property data, and overseeing repairs and improvements.
• Demonstrated experience in compliance management, including health and safety, statutory inspections (e.g., gas, electrical, fire safety), and regulatory reporting.
• Proficiency in using housing or property management systems and standard office software to maintain accurate records and produce reports.
• Effective stakeholder and contractor management skills, with the ability to build productive relationships with residents, suppliers, and colleagues.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and a focus on risk management and service quality.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical or regulatory information in clear, accessible language.
• Relevant qualification or professional certification in housing, asset management, surveying, facilities management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Knowledge of social housing regulation and best practice in property compliance in the UK; experience with community-based housing associations is an advantage.
• Ability to work independently on-site in Coleford, organize workload effectively, and meet deadlines in a small, multi-disciplinary team.

This role requires you to predominantly be based at our offices in the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire. However, occasional travel may be required.
