The Emergency Department/ Same Day Emergency Care Unit is a busy and challenging environment. We are a forward thinking unit with a vision to provide a consistently high quality service to the public.

Responsibilities

  • You will be expected to work internal shift rotation.
  • We work within a Multidisciplinary team promoting independence and patient centred care, implementing realistic individualised goals to allow proactive discharge planning.
  • To promote multi-disciplinary patient centred care and take responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care, primarily under the supervision of a senior nurse.
  • In the absence of senior members take charge of the ward/department on an infrequent basis.
  • To participate in the supervision of staff and students.

Qualifications and preferences

  • Ideally the applicants will have proven post registration experience preferably in emergency care or the acute setting.
  • The post holder will be supported in their development by the Emergency Department Practice Development Nurse who will assist in the facilitation of skills, knowledge and experience within the department.
  • We would be particularly interested to hear from RMNs and RSCNs.
