Position
At WVT we are a Level 1+ Special Care Baby Unit providing evidence‑based care for premature and sick infants born at 30 weeks gestation and above. The unit holds 12 cots: 1 intensive care cot, 2 high dependency cots, 6 special care cots and 3 transitional care beds for mothers and babies. We work in partnership with families to promote integrated care and are progressing through UNICEF BFI neonatal standards, achieving stage 1 and working towards stage 2. We have a Bronze accreditation for the BLISS Baby Charter and are moving towards Silver.
Role Overview
We are recruiting a Neonatal Nurse (Band 5) who will care for pre‑term and term babies across the neonatal service, including transitional care beds. The nurse will work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver high‑quality care, assess, plan, implement and evaluate individual programmes of care. Close collaboration with the neonatal outreach team will establish and facilitate early discharge planning to the community.
Key Qualifications
- Completed a Neonatal Speciality Module (QIS) or willing to work towards it.
- Recent experience as a registered nurse in an NNU, LNU or SCBU.
- Registered Nurse or Midwife with previous neonatal experience.
