Wycombe Abbey seeks an enthusiastic and customer‑focused Sports Centre Assistant to support the day‑to‑day operation of the School’s Sports Centre. This varied role contributes to the smooth running of facilities, supporting pupils, staff and external users while ensuring a safe, welcoming and well‑maintained environment.

Reports to: Sports Centre Manager

Contract: This is a permanent contract. The first three months will be a probationary period.

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week on a flexible shift rota basis to include evenings and weekends. A half‑hour unpaid lunch break is included in each shift. Hours will be agreed with the Sports Centre Manager.

As Sports Centre Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of a high‑quality sports and leisure service. Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and maintaining facilities
  • Setting up equipment for activities and events
  • Providing a professional front‑of‑house service
  • Ensuring health and safety standards are upheld at all times

You will interact regularly with pupils, staff and visitors, contributing to a positive experience for all users of the Sports Centre. This role is well suited to an organised and proactive individual with strong customer service skills and an interest in sport and wellbeing.
