Are you passionate about pastoral care and looking to make a real difference in a vibrant educational community? Wychwood School is seeking a dedicated and energetic Assistant House Parent to join our boarding team. In this role, you will work closely with the Boarding House Parent to ensure the smooth, day-to-day running of the house, creating a safe, supportive, and "home-away-from-home" environment for our pupils.

This is a pivotal moment to join the Wychwood family. Due to exciting expansion plans, we are growing our community and enhancing our facilities. We are looking for someone who shares our vision for excellence in boarding and wants to be part of a forward-thinking school during a period of significant development.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the day-to-day running of the boarding house and contribute to a safe, supportive environment for pupils.
  • Work closely with the Boarding House Parent to ensure smooth operations and effective communication within the house community.
  • Support pupils’ wellbeing and create a welcoming, home-like atmosphere.
  • Demonstrate warmth, organisation, and resilience to manage the pace of boarding life.
  • Opportunity to teach Physical Education is considered highly advantageous for this role.
Qualifications / Person Specification:
  • Warm, organised, and resilient individual who can build rapport with young people.
  • Experience in pastoral care or a willingness to transition into a residential role.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a boarding team.
  • Teaching PE is advantageous but not required.
