Northern Rascals is a multidisciplinary performance company based in Calderdale, creating contemporary dance-theatre rooted in Northern stories, human experience, socially and politically conscious themes, and a playful spirit. They make work that’s collaborative, welcoming and grounded in their communities.

They’re looking for new Board Members to join as they step into their next chapter; sharing their work more widely than ever before and building the sustainability and resilience of the company. After an exciting eight years, they’re looking forward to 2026, with a new business plan in place and a host of creative projects, including the development of their new show, Coiners, inspired by the Cragg Vale Coiners, and touring their acclaimed production of Sunny Side nationwide.

Growing their Board is a key part of their next phase. As a Community Interest Company, their Board helps keep their work in the public interest and supports their co-Directors, Anna and Sam, with advice, insight and fresh perspectives.

You don’t need Board experience to join them – they’re interested in your skills, lived experience and curiosity. They want a Board that reflects their work and their audiences, made up of participants of all ages, backgrounds and places across the UK. They welcome applications from underrepresented groups.

For an informal chat, contact Jo Royce (Organisational Development Consultant) on joroyce.consults@gmail.com, or join their Zoom Q&A on Monday 26 January at 6pm (email Jo to register).
