Responsibilities:
- Manage and process the monthly payroll cycle for employees.
- Cover all elements such as new starters, leavers, contractual changes, absences, overtime, statutory payments, and year-end payroll activities.
- Provide effective day-to-day supervision of the Payroll Administrator, ensuring accurate and efficient processing of payroll and expense claims.
- Act as a subject matter expert on payroll and pensions.
- Investigate and resolve payroll-related discrepancies and enquiries, escalating complex issues when necessary.
- Process manual calculations and oversee the administration of ad hoc and non-standard payroll payments.
- Support the organisation\’s financial reporting cycle, including the preparation of payroll journals, reconciliations, and reporting of payroll data for accounting purposes.
- Prepare regular and ad hoc payroll reports detailing earnings, deductions, taxes, leave balances, and non-taxable income.
- Oversee the administration and compliance of various pension schemes, ensuring accurate contributions and liaising with scheme providers as required.
- Maintain up-to-date payroll records.
- Continuously review and improve payroll processes and controls.
