Job Description
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Pension Scheme Actuary to join a growing and highly regarded pensions team in a senior leadership capacity. You will play a key role in advising trustee boards, leading complex actuarial projects, and managing long-standing client relationships, while helping to shape the future growth and direction of the practice.
Offering a varied and challenging workload, this position provides exposure to a broad range of pension schemes and projects, alongside the opportunity to mentor and develop actuarial talent within a collaborative and supportive environment.
About the Role
- Act as Scheme Actuary to a portfolio of pension schemes, delivering clear, pragmatic and high-quality advice to trustees and other key stakeholders.
- Lead the delivery of complex actuarial calculations, valuations and strategic projects, ensuring work is completed to the highest professional and regulatory standards.
- Manage client engagements from inception through to completion, taking responsibility for project planning, budgets, timescales and stakeholder management.
- Lead, mentor and develop colleagues, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning and technical excellence.
- Share specialist knowledge across the wider team, contributing to best practice, technical development and thought leadership initiatives.
About You
- Qualified Actuary (FIA/FFA) with Scheme Actuary certification, or the ability to obtain certification immediately.
- Proven experience advising Trustee Boards and managing a portfolio of Scheme Actuary appointments.
- Strong understanding of the UK defined benefit pensions market and the challenges facing schemes and stakeholders.
