Job Description
Our client is seeking a reliable and flexible Kitchen Assistant to support their catering team on an ad hoc basis at a site based in Hastings. This role is ideal for someone with a positive attitude, good teamwork skills, and an enhanced DBS certificate who is looking for flexible working opportunities. You will be assisting in the day-to-day operation of the kitchen, supporting food preparation, service, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist with basic food preparation and service
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils
- Follow all food hygiene and health & safety procedures
- Support the kitchen team during busy service periods
- Ensure stock is stored correctly and rotation procedures are followed
- Wash up and ensure all areas are kept clean and tidy
- Follow instructions from the Chef or Kitchen Supervisor
Skills, Experience, and Requirements
- Enhanced DBS certificate or willingness to obtain one (required)
- Previous experience in a kitchen, catering, or hospitality environment preferred
- Good understanding of food hygiene and safety standards
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible shifts
- Ability to work well as part of a team
