Our client is seeking a Trainee Machine Operator to join its production team on a full-time, day shift basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and hardworking individual looking to start or develop a career in manufacturing. The role is suited to someone who enjoys hands-on work in a fast-paced, time-critical environment and is willing to learn how to operate production machinery safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up assigned machines at the start of each shift
- Carry out all required safety checks before production begins
- Operate machinery to manufacture corrugated packaging products
- Monitor machines during production runs to ensure optimum performance
- Perform quality checks and optimise throughput to meet production targets
- Record set-up times, run times, and downtime using shop floor systems
- Maintain, clean, and recalibrate machinery at the end of each shift
- Operate pallet jacks and other production equipment as required
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment
- Prevent the build-up of waste materials in production areas
- Report progress, issues, defects, near misses, or health & safety concerns to management
- Assist on other machines during busy periods when required

- Good awareness of health and safety practices
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately
- Strong attention to detail with an understanding of quality standards
- Basic numeracy skills, including measuring and calculations
