An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Planner to join a successful and growing manufacturing business. This role plays a critical part in ensuring products move efficiently through the manufacturing process, helping to maximise on-time delivery performance, exceed customer expectations and support continuous improvement initiatives across the business.

Working closely with Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining production plans, managing priorities and ensuring visibility of all orders throughout the production lifecycle. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and organised planning professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate the planning of products through manufacturing operations
  • Work closely with Sales teams to agree realistic delivery schedules and support order input processes
  • Monitor production schedules and ensure visibility of all orders through the ERP system
  • Identify critical orders, bottlenecks, and potential delays, taking proactive action to resolve issues
  • Coordinate effectively with Engineering, Production, Purchasing, and Supply Chain teams to minimise disruption
  • Review available capacity against forecasted demand and support effective resource planning
  • Produce and maintain planning metrics and performance reports
  • Support production and purchasing functions during periods of absence or increased workload
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance planning processes and delivery performance
  • Build strong working relationships across departments to ensure effective communication and collaboration
Skills, Experience & Training Requirements
  • Previous experience in a Production Planner, Manufacturing Planner, Supply Chain Planner, or similar planning role
  • Strong ERP planning experience
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to make informed decisions and take ownership of outcomes
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet challenging deadlines
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • High level of drive, motivation, and enthusiasm
  • 5+ years’ experience within a production planning environment (desirable)
  • Experience within manufacturing, engineering, or assembly-based operations
  • Knowledge of supply chain planning and inventory management
  • Strong Excel and systems knowledge
  • Experience using Microsoft Dynamics AX or similar ERP systems
  • ONC/HNC qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or a related discipline
