Supporter Events and Engagement Assistant
About the role:
The British Museum is embarking on one of the most significant cultural redevelopment projects undertaken anywhere in the world. The Masterplan will transform the Museum for the 21st century while staying open, maintaining the founding commitment to keep the collection safe and accessible to the public for generations to come.
The successful candidate will play a key part in the Development team in supporting the engagement function, including the development and delivery of Member and supporter events, the production of the Museum’s Magazine, the production of Member and supporter communications and broader engagement activities, in print and in person.
Key areas of responsibility:
– Provide support to the Engagement team in the organisation and delivery of events, providing logistical and administrative support ahead of events and attending to support delivery.
– Provide support to the Supporter Engagement Manager: Communications in the creation, organisation, and delivery of all marketing and communications materials.
– Provide support for the production of the British Museum Magazine and Remus (Young Friends’ magazine), including picture research, invoicing and ensuring articles are filed on time.
– Support the production of regular reporting to illustrate the impact of Engagement activities.
About you:
– Experience of working with communications and events.
– Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise own work.
– Excellent stakeholder relationship skills.
– Good communication skills and exemplary abilities in producing written and visual communications with good presentation skills.
– Rigorous attention to detail with copywriting and editing skills.
– An understanding of fundraising and marketing practices and principles.
